Torment without Love
Jesus saw the women from Samaria coming toward Him. He knew she had had five husbands and was living with her sixth man. He saw her as thirsty not dirty. There was a void within her that ached to know love. Jesus loved her as a Father. Studies tell us that a newborn baby, needs to be loved hugged and held close. Gods plan is for children to be born into loving and caring families where little souls are nourished and filled by a parent’s constant and unfailing love. Because of the brokenness of many families and homes today, there is a huge deficit of love in the lives of many. Young men and girls grow up with gaping father wound in their heart that aches to be filled. Adults and teenagers are tempted to believe that bad love is better than no love at all, so they seek to meet their human need for love (which should have come through loving parents) through sex, till they find out that sex is not the same as love.
The god of sex was around in Jesus day too. It says ‘if you have a sexual partner you will be fulfilled; only sex can give you joy, happiness and make you feel valuable. Both single people and married people are disappointed every week because they too have hoped that sex would fill the void in their life that only God can fill.
Friend, God designed sex to have an awesome place in marriage; it is important, but it can never take the place of God.
