Walk by sight
As believers, we often emphasize the need to walk by faith and not by sight, but this is referring to natural sight. Actually Jesus expects us to walk by sight; to hear and see; to have spiritual hearing and seeing.
For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn so that I should heal them.' But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear. Mat 13:15
We have glorified and legitimized a sightless relationship with God. Never mind that Paul the apostle saw Jesus in visions at his conversion and after that a number of times and that he prayed that believers would enjoy the spiritual vision of Jesus. Therefore I .......for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened. Eph 1:15. We know by seeing Him. All of this only from seeing and receiving from the Spirit! And we are talking about spiritual vision, or begin able to see in the spirit realm.
Did Jesus our pattern, walk-in sightless-ness? No; the bible says He only did what He saw His Father doing. John 5:19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
Friend, we may know that God speaks via visions and dreams and impressions but sometimes we don’t take the time to look for Him and what He is showing us!
