Prison doors
A month before we went full time in the ministry, I was on holiday with my wife and two small children. I attended two church services on Sunday and both preachers were preaching from the passage that God had spoken to me in the house that morning. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to set the captives free” This confirmation brought peace and excitement to my heart. I knew the anointing is the only weapon against the enemy, and only the anointing could opens the prison doors that bound the people I was called to serve. More than that, it is the anointing of the Spirit that enables us to receive the good news and revelation from God; it is the anointing that pours into our lives to heal broken hearts; both our and others through us. We can’t do anything without the anointing, we can’t see anything without the anointing and we can’t know anything from God without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The devil gained control of the world when man handed his authority to the devil, but Jesus won that authority for mankind back from the devil by overcoming him as a man. Now that victory must continue on earth through other men and women in the same power and by the same anointing that bought Jesus Christ the victory.
Friend, our enemies are God’s enemies. Our enemies are everything hindering the establishment of His kingdom, His rule and His character being demonstrated through the church to the world, but the Holy Spirits work is to empower mankind against God’s enemies. That is the anointing!
